This woodland garden picture special shows the nature (in my opinion) can look best when left to its own devices. It doesn’t have to be primped and pruned to within an inch of its life.
I took this picture for you to see when I visited the RHS Wisley gardens.
The combination of leaf-mould, ground cover perennials and moving water create a woodland garden that is a feast for the eyes, and has a serene, calming effect. I love the moss that has established itself on the rocks, it adds texture and shows that the whole area has been left to evolve by itself.
I think it would be quite easy to recreate this on a smaller scale in your own garden, what do you think?
Feel free to share this photo on Pinterest, Twitter or Facebook, and show everyone that we not all gardening is about bright colours and the rarest varieties of shrubs.
